Forms and Foreshadowing:

I have made a variety of sketches that present the uses of form and foreshortening. The first image shows drawings of the muscle structures within the arms and legs. To create these drawings, I have used pencil and a variety of coloured pencils. I have used these particular mediums because the pencil allows me to apply tone and the coloured pencils have been used to highlight different muscles.

Afterwards, I focused on showing how I develop my drawings. I have done this by making skeleton structured drawings that show thin lines and where the joints would be. Near these structures, I have presented the final outcomes. I like these drawings as I have used simple lines. To improve upon these, I should of presented uses of foreshortening. I think the sketches are successful as I have shown how each drawing develops. 

For my next pieces of work, I have made some gesture drawings. For the first stages of these drawings, I created skeleton structures. Then, I produced the final outcomes next to them. The two mediums that I have used for these sketches are pencil and pen. To improve this piece of work, I believe that I should of developed the stages even further by making form drawings. 

  For my last piece, I have made a sketch that presents the uses of foreshortening. To show the technique within my drawing, I have made the woman's boots appear close up as I've drawn them at a larger scale. I like how this piece has turned out based on how I have used simple lines. Also, I have added subtle details such as mark makings on the boots and in parts of the background. For this sketch, I have used a red coloured pencil. I think that using this medium was effective as it has produced delicate pieces of line work. However, I think my drawing could of been improved by adding a background. I believe it would of given this sketch more detail. Also, I could of drawn in muscle structures to some parts of the piece. 

In conclusion, I believe this task was useful because I was able to practise drawing structures and forms that I will continue to use in future lessons. For future pieces, I am going to try and experiment with more mediums. 

Recently, I have continued to practise drawing structures and forms. For these two pieces of work, I have tried using some elements that use digital methods. For both sketches, I have used Photoshop. To begin with, I sketched both figures traditionally. The medium that I have used for these two pieces is pen. Afterwards, I took pictures of my work and put them into Photoshop. I used this software to experiment with colour schemes and to focus on formal elements such as tone. 

I enjoyed producing both pieces of work as I've been able to practise making digital work. Also, I am happy with the outcomes because they both present the uses of mixed media.
