For this lesson, I have mainly learnt how to draw the human body from different viewpoints and angles. At the start of the lesson, I produced drawings of the woman standing up. I think this was helpful as it has allowed me to practise drawing the proportions of the body correctly. Also, I think that this was helpful as I was able to practise drawing from an angle in which the right leg is further away from the left leg. Meaning that the right leg would have to be drawn shorter.

To extend my practise in drawing from different angles, my second drawing presents a sketch of the woman sitting down.I found this piece quite challenging because of the posture. Furthermore, I also found it challenging because of the angle presented on the arms. To improve my sketch, I needed to use the technique of foreshortening to make certain parts of the arms appear further away or close up.

For my next two pieces of work, I have made sketches that continue to show the woman sitting down. I believe that my drawings are successful because they both present a mixture of simple and detailed features. I have added simple lines to the hands and feet and I have added details on elements such as the hair and clothing. I think this makes my work effective as I have added detail on relevant elements. To add extra detail within my final drawing, I have added a background. I think that for my last piece, I should of tried adding the uses of foreshortening on the foot as it was close up. To improve my sketches, I think that I need to practise drawing from high and low angles. And I believe that I need to practise applying the technique of foreshortening.

Overall, I believe that my work is successful because I have been able to develop my drawing skills based on thinking about different angles and viewpoints. However, to improve my work even further, I should of created my sketches by using a variety of materials and not just pencil.
