For this lesson, I have continued to practise drawing a person from different viewpoints and positions. For the first sketch, the man was standing up. For this drawing, I used pencil. I think that using this medium worked well based on how I was able to add tone and detail onto the body. This drawing needs to be improved based on how it is not complete.
For my second drawing, the man is still standing up but this time the angle has changed. I think this sketch is successful because I have added tone on top and underneath the arms. However, I believe that this drawing needs improving as the proportions are not correct. For example, the legs are too short.
When creating this piece of work, I decided to use a different medium. The medium I chose was fine liner. I think that using fine liner has given my work more variation and it evidences that I am experimenting with a different drawing materials. For this drawing, I have tried applying tone by using the technique of cross-hatching. The main element within my work that could of been improved is how I've drawn the floor. I believe that this should of been improved by altering the angle.
For my final sketch, I went back to using pencil. This time the man was sitting down and I found this challenging as I wanted to make sure I get the proportions and angle right. I do think that the proportions are correct but I have noticed different aspects within the drawing that could of been improved even further. The first mistake that I could of improved within this piece is based on the detail. I did start to add tone and this could of been finished. Another way this sketch could of been improved is based on the viewpoint. I don't believe that the viewpoint being presented within this drawing is correct. However, recognising these improvements will now help me for future lessons.
